Most of Cambodia lives in the countryside between the temples and the lake, and most visitors drive through it with the windows up. This day stops: a sticky rice stall, a bakery with a wood oven, a pagoda, the rice fields, a village market, and then the boat at Kompong Khleang and sunset on the open water.

Good to know
How much walking is there?
Very little, and all of it flat: a few minutes at each stop, the market, the pagoda grounds. The day is mostly in the car and on the boat.
Is lunch included?
Lunch in a family home is switched on in this version of the day. Turn it off in the builder if you would rather eat in town.
How long is the day?
About 8 hours, from a late-morning pickup to drop-off after sunset.
Can we do it to Kompong Phluk instead?
Yes. Open the day in the builder, choose Kompong Phluk, and the countryside stops stay on; the lake part becomes the flooded forest.
