A community tourism boat on Tonle Sap Lake
Prices

What it costs,
village by village.

The floating villages have official prices, set by the community cooperatives and, at Chong Kneas, by Angkor Enterprise. If you are quoted more at the landing you are paying a middleman. Here is every fee as of October 2026, and what our tours include so you can compare.

What you should not be paying

  • A "donation" at a school or orphanage stop. Our tours don't stop at either.
  • A bag of rice "for the village" at an inflated price from a floating shop.
  • A boat ticket above the official price because the driver "knows someone".

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Tonle Sap boat ticket?

It depends on the village. Kompong Phluk and Kompong Khleang charge USD 20 per person for the community boat. Chong Kneas charges USD 7 per person with a four-ticket minimum per boat, so a couple pays USD 28 for the boat. Mechrey is USD 20 per person.

Is there an entrance fee for the floating villages?

The boat ticket is the entrance fee. There is no separate gate charge at Kompong Phluk or Kompong Khleang. At Chong Kneas the ticket is sold by Angkor Enterprise at the port.

Do I need the Angkor pass for the floating villages?

No. The Angkor pass covers the temples only. The lake villages have their own boat tickets.

Can I pay in cash on the day?

Yes. Book by WhatsApp and pay your guide in cash at pickup; or pay by credit card online when you book. If you go on your own, the ticket offices take cash in US dollars or riel.

Why is your group tour cheaper than going alone?

Because the boat ticket, the forest rowboat and the transport add up to about the same as our tour, and we fill the van. The guide, the water and the snacks are the difference.
