Who takes you

Our guides grew up
on this water.

Sokhun was born in Kompong Phluk. Phallis is from Kompong Khleang. When they take you through the villages they are showing you home: the pagoda, the family boats, the neighbours drying fish on the walkway.

We use the community boats and pay the community price. No school stops, no souvenir barges, no commissions.

Know the lake before you go

The river that runs
both ways.

Every monsoon the Mekong forces the Tonle Sap River backwards and the lake grows five times over, flooding the forest and lifting the villages on their stilts. We wrote the guides we wished our guests had read first.

“Our guide was born and raised in the floating village itself, so he knew everyone and everything about life on the water.”
